Law Practice

Benjamin Rabin was admitted to practice in New York State in 1994. At that time, he was already working as a public defender at the Hiscock Legal Aid Society, where he eventually practiced for over two years. During that time, he also began a private practice, concentrating in criminal law and traffic matters. After leaving the Legal Aid Society, he worked for a small law practice in Syracuse, where he helped develop and administer the personal injury department. His next position was counsel for Cigna Insurance Company, where Mr. Rabin gained experience handling insurance cases in civil courts from Rochester to Albany, and from Massena to Binghamton. He later left Cigna to become the first attorney hired by Alexander and Catalano. As the senior associate in the firm, Mr. Rabin handles many of the most serious cases in the office, and has trial experience in the Cayuga County Supreme Court, Cortland County Supreme Court, Madison County Supreme Court, Onondaga County Supreme Court, and the New York State Court of Claims. He has lectured about insurance law to less experienced attorneys, and in addition to handling many areas of personal injury, Mr. Rabin has a focus on cases involving motorcycles.
